Welcome to Calvary Safety and Security
The Mission of the Safety Team is to provide a safe, secure and peaceful place of worship for both members and visitors; thus, supporting the Mission of Calvary Community Church “To share Jesus and to help people experience life-change”
Nehemiah 4:9 “But we prayed to our God and posted a guard day and night to meet this threat.”
The Calvary Safety Team is organized among three distinct teams: the Security Response Team, the Parking Team, and the Medical Response Team.
The Security Response Team (SRT) is responsible for all security and safety measures at Calvary Community Church. Members of the SRT shall make every effort to be welcoming ambassadors of the church while simultaneously ensuring the safety of every person.
The duties of the Calvary Parking Team are two-fold:
- Assist in the orderly and efficient movement and parking of vehicles on the Calvary campus; and
- To be the first line of eyes and ears for suspicious activity.
The Medical Response Team (MRT) is made up of Doctors, Nurses, Paramedics, Firefighters, EMTs and other medical professionals. Members of the MRT are required to maintain their respective medical licensing and remain in good standing with any appropriate certification.
General Requirements
• Must be a follower of Jesus Christ.
• Must regularly attend Calvary Community Church.
• Physically able to perform the duties required (walking, standing and lifting, possibly running a short distance).
• Ability to remain calm in the event of an emergency.
• Submit a ministry application and pass a background check.
• Must be able to communicate clearly to other team members, authorities and/or the congregation should the need arise.
• Must commit to serving not less than once a month and attend periodic training.
• Have no disqualifying criminal convictions or disqualifying charges, as determined by the Safety and Security Director (Jon and James). A background check is conducted upon application to the Calvary Safety Team, and annually thereafter.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
